As a staff writer producing the daily "Action Line" feature for the San Jose Mercury News, I began receiving a lot of requests for information about buying, selling and appraising original animation cels. I pitched the story idea to my editor and landed a front page feature in the Sunday Arts section. Because the Mercury News' archives format leaves a lot to be desired, I have rekeyed the story.
