Content ends soon? Don't rely on spell-check alone

Always make sure you have at least one extra person reading your collateral before it is published. I received an email today from a merchant with the subject line: "Content ends soon!" Wow, I thought, that's bold. The business is actually promoting that this would be the last newsletter (and thank goodness!). I was curious. But when I read on, I discovered that the newsletter just had information about a contest the store was running. Ohhhh, a contest, not content. That's something completely different. I'm sure the editor, bless his or her heart, ran a spell-check. But that wouldn't have helped here. "Content" is a word, and it was spelled correctly. It was even used properly. But it was wrong.
